Product Description

Cairo, 1962. Tic-Toc, Tic-Toc. In this Cold War spy thriller, something is about to blow up in the desert at Noon on Thursday; and Richard Thomson, a failed CIA agent, is the only one who can stop it. He was dumped in Cairo by the Agency, because they couldn't think of any place worse to send him. This fast-paced suspense thriller is a historic fiction novel, but the story is as contemporary as today's headlines. It will take you back to a place when John Kennedy is in the White House, Nikita Khrushchev is in the Kremlin, and Abdel, Gamal Nasser is in Cairo, threatened by the radical islamist fringe of the Moslem Brotherhood. While the world is focused on the Russian missiles in Cuba, which are pointed at the US, no one notices the even more deadly ones being rolled out in the Egyptian desert that are now pointed at Israel, no one, except Thomson. It is a world of political agendas and conspiracies, where treachery and double-dealing are the rule. Already gnawed on by Langley, the US Ambassador, and even the Cairo police, Thomson thought his day couldn’t get much worse, until someone left a dead body lying on the rear steps of his hotel. Its head had been lopped off like a ripe melon and placed so it looked back down at its own body. A message? No doubt about it. The body belongs to Mahmoud Yussuf, a fat petty thief and inept spy who is trying to sell photographs of a long-abandoned RAF base in the Egyptian desert. What those photos have to do with a dead Israeli Mossad agent, Nazi rocket scientists, the fanatical Moslem Brotherhood, and two missing Egyptian tank regiments in this Middle East historical fiction spy versus spy thriller could start the next Arab-Israeli War or stop it. Alone and on the run, no one believes Thomson's story -- not the CIA, the US Ambassador, and most assuredly not Captain Hassan Saleh, Chief of the Homicide Bureau of the Cairo Police, who wants to hang Thomson for murder. Like Night of the Generals, this is a murder mystery wrapped inside an international political thriller. In this CIA action adventure and suspense thriller, if Tomson doesn't solve the mystery, something is about to blow up in his face at Noon on Thursday. Tick Toc, Tick Toc...If you like Aim True, My Brothers, you might also like new Burke's Gamble, Burke's War, or The Undertaker, my contemporary suspense novels. You might also like Amongst My Enemies, set against the backdrop of WW II, and the Cold War, Thursday at Noon, an international suspense thriller set in Egypt in 1962 when the Middle East is about to explode, and Winner Lose All, a spy, a spy vs. spy espionage thriller set in the closing days of WW II, as wartime alliances begin to shift and no one can be trusted.
