I never thought I would become a novelist. I’ve always loved books, but in college I majored in Economics. After college, I held a variety of jobs in the insurance and health care industries. I left the workforce to be a stay-at-home mom seven years later when my daughter was born. When my daughter started preschool, I decided to write a novel. It’s been quite an adventure to turn the stories in my imagination into actual novels. I currently reside in Tampa with my husband, daughter, and two cats. When I’m not reading, writing, or taking care of my family, I like to exercise. I’m a minimalist, a lacto-ovo vegetarian, and hopelessly addicted to the TV show Dexter. From their very first encounter, she has no idea just how much he would affect her world and shatter her preconceived notions. She realizes that her words not only hurt so many people but added to their pain. They say pride comes before a fall… so, watch out! Everyone has a story. When walking past the houses on your block during an after-dinner stroll or driving down a rural road dotted with singular farms, have you ever wondered what was going on inside? I have always been interested in people’s backstories. How did they get to where they are today? What ramifications does the past have on the present? So I decided to bring a group of people together, bound only by their love of classic literature, and see what happened. The result is The Bibliophiles Series, which begins with “A Whisper to a Scream,” the story of Sarah Anderson, a stay-at-home mother of two, and Annie Jacobs, a PR executive dealing with fertility issues, and continues with each novel devoted to one or two of the Classics Book Club members, including their fearless leader, Edwina Hipplewhite. I have been a writer/editor for more than twenty-five years, ten of which were spent in editing magazines. A two-time “Folio Magazine” Ozzie Award for Excellence in Magazine Editorial and Design winner, my work has appeared in countless magazines and newspapers. As a child, Madison Johns preferred to distance herself from other children her age, and had been described as a dreamer. Even as a small child, she remembers staying awake many a night fighting dragons, whisked away to foreign lands, or meeting the man of her dreams. She was a voracious reader of historical romance in her teen years and has always wished to one day journey to England, France, Ireland, and Scotland. The writing bug bit her at the age of 44 and she pounded out three books since that time. As the publishing climate changed she took a risk and decided to self publish, first a collection of two horror short stories geared for YA, Coffin Tales Season of Death. Madison’s caring nature had led her to work in the healthcare field, where she was employed as a nursing care assistant at a nursing home, and it was there that she was inspired to write her first mystery, Armed and Outrageous, introducing amateur detective Agnes Barton. The book depicts two elderly ladies digging up clues with enough laugh out loud antics to make James Bond blush.
