“Sophie Davis” is a pseudonym for two best friends, roommates, and now writing/business partners. The pair met at Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law in 2005, and have been making mischief, mayhem, and stories together ever since. After they graduated, when one longed for the ability to read minds so she wouldn’t have to study for the bar exam, a Saga was born.

Two years ago they released Talented, Sophie Davis’ debut novel and the first in the five-book Talented Saga. Three of the follow-ups, Caged, Hunted, and Created have since been released, as well as a novella, Captivated and a spin-off novel, Exiled. In addition to the Talented books, Sophie has released books in both the Nightmares Trilogy and the Blind Barriers Trilogy. All of these have been on multiple Bestseller Lists in five countries.

The duo currently lives in Washington, D.C. They practice law by day, and stay up into the wee hours of the night crafting new story ideas and perfecting existing ones. Both are compulsive list-makers, self-proclaimed horror movie aficionados, and birthday cake lovers. Each owns an adorable dog – a poodle and a daschund/german shepard mix – who are the girls’ faithful companions as they navigate the world of Indie Publishing.

The duo is presently hard at work on the Blind Barriers Trilogy, which they hope to finish entirely by January 2015. After that they’ll get started on Inescapable, the final book in the Talented Saga, which will hopefully release in Spring 2015. Later in 2015 they will be releasing a new series they’re both very excited about, and anxious to begin writing. It is doubtful the pair will ever run out of ideas.

When the two aren’t discussing new marketing strategies or typing furiously, they can be found shopping in Georgetown, running in Rock Creek Park, or at the local dive bars in their Columbia Heights Neighborhood.

D. Robert Pease has been interested in creating worlds since childhood. From building in the sandbox behind his house, to drawing fantastical worlds with paper and pencil, there has hardly been a time he hasn’t been off on some adventure in his mind, to the dismay of parents and teachers alike. Also, since the moment he could read, books have consumed vast swaths of his life. From The Mouse and the Motorcycle, to The Lord of the Rings, worlds just beyond reality have called to him like Homer’s Sirens. It’s not surprising then he chose to write stories of his own. Each filled with worlds just beyond reach, but close enough we can all catch a glimpse of ourselves in the characters he creates.

D. Robert’s published works include:

The Noah Zarc Trilogy: NOAH ZARC: MAMMOTH TROUBLE – Book 1 NOAH ZARC: CATACLYSM – Book 2 NOAH ZARC: DECLARATION – Book 3 NOAH ZARC: OMNIBUS – Special 3 in 1 trilogy edition with illustrations from the Author NOAH ZARC: ROSWELL INCIDENT – Short Story Prequel

SHADOW SWARM

DREAM WARRIORS: A JOEY COLA NOVEL – Book 1 (Coming July 2014)

Genre: Science Fiction, Dystopian

When her best friend Heather calls in the middle of the night, Becca assumes it’s the usual drama. Wrong. Heather’s parents have been arrested as dissidents – and Becca’s mother, the dystopian regime’s most infamous torturer, has already executed them for their crimes against the state.

To stop Heather from getting herself killed trying to prove her parents’ innocence, Becca hunts for proof of their guilt. She doesn’t expect to find evidence that leaves her questioning everything she thought she knew about the dissidents… and about her mother.

When she risks her life to save a dissident, she learns her mother isn’t the only one with secrets – and the plot she uncovers will threaten the lives of the people she loves most. For Becca, it’s no longer just a choice between risking execution and ignoring the regime’s crimes; she has to decide whose life to save and whose to sacrifice.

It’s easy to be a hero when you can save the world, but what about when all you can do is choose how you live in it? Zoe Cannon writes about the things that fascinate her: outsiders, societies no sane person would want to live in, questions with no easy answers, and the inner workings of the mind. If she couldn’t be a writer, she would probably be a psychologist, a penniless philosopher, or a hermit in a cave somewhere. While she’ll read anything that isn’t nailed down, she considers herself a YA reader and writer at heart. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband and a giant teddy bear of a dog, and spends entirely too much time on the internet.
