Product Description

In the not so distant future, the earth's population has boomed out of control. The planet can no longer support the massive influx of people now numbering in the tens of billions. High unemployment rates, excessive crime, lack of food and the ever increasing divide between the classes are all by-products of this situation. The United States Government explores a number of options but nothing seems to work. Desperately needing a solution, the Government enforces a drastic resolution, legalizing one day of the year where it is legal to murder anyone. The name "Curve Day" is chosen because market researchers find that people are more accepting of a name with a non threatening nature. At first the idea was hated by the masses. The day did not pass without a massive backlash against the Government and the ruling class but as time goes on, people gradually come to accept the idea. Our story takes place on the eleventh Curve Day, following an eclectic group of individuals from vastly different backgrounds as they struggle in the lead up and literal execution of the event. Who will survive the annual slaughter? Approx 63000 words in length
