It is the first in a series of standalone books set in the land of Válkia.Editorial Reviews"An enjoyable story for young readers with adventure, disreputable characters, gods, rebels, magic and hooded fiends. Author Ryan Sullivan keeps the action flowing quickly and fluidly throughout the novel as the siblings race to stay one step ahead of certain imprisonment and death."- Mommasez"The mythology involved in the back story is absolutely wonderful. Whether it's using classic mythology like Greek or Norse, or using a made up mythology, I love seeing how different authors play with the themes and give life and meaning to their world by incorporating the mysticism of different blends of religion and magic. In Aundes Aura, the seven gods sent gifts to mankind to help them in the dark world they inhabited. The gifts, later known as Auras, could be used by people to wield the different godly powers. Gifts range from light, nature, time, to death, and each can be controlled by one person at a time."- Unabridged Andra"This book is the first of a series, but according to the author the books are all going to be standalone. I hope there is a lot of crossover between characters however, because I really enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book. . . . Mr. Sullivan has created a wonderful world and I’m very much looking forward to his next book in this series. And, like I said, I certainly hope I get more opportunities to see the characters in this book. I was sorry to put the book down once I was finished."- Long and Short ReviewsAmazon Customer Reviews"Great young adult fantasy."- m pollard
